Blue Moon Collectables & Antiques moved to the historic townsite of Pinjarra [in W. A`s Southwestern corridor] from Port Kennedy & reopened its doors on the 28th of May 2020. We have the same owners, the same individualised service and a spacious show room for you to browse.
The shop is only a 15 -20-minute drive from Mandurah or 10 mins from the Forrest Freeway exit at Pinjarra Road.
The showroom is located a short stroll over the bridge from the main hub of Pinjarra going North on George Street [and diagonally opposite the Premier Hotel and directly opposite Pinjarra Tyre Power on Patterson Rd]. We offer old fashioned service and the time to talk about times gone by. There is plenty of parking available.
Our catch cry is "ALL THINGS VINTAGE "so we aim to stock an array of everchanging products. We constantly source out selected antique, Art Deco, vintage & retro items and collectables from the 1800’s to the 80’s. This includes selected pieces of furniture, glassware, crockery and cutlery, crystal ware, Murano and art glass collectables, paintings, figurines, bronze statues and brass wares. We have contemporary and vintage pieces of costume/gold/silver jewellery, ladies' clothes, hats, handbags and shoes [this section has grown significantly and is very popular]. We also have vintage and antique linen, vintage/antique oil lamps, clocks, silverwares, tobacconalia, vinyl records [and some old fashioned 8 tracks & cassettes], vintage photographic equipment and barber paraphernalia. There is a range of boxes, chests and crates, suitcases, tins, kitchenalia, garagenalia, history books, war books, military gear, tools, and too many other curios to mention.
We are retail Stockists of several upcycling products including Canterbury Blue & Made by Paint chalk/mineral paints, waxes and sealers, Aussie Decor Transfers & Hokus Pokus rub on dry transfers, decoupage papers & stencils, wall and furniture decals. We stock a range of imported metal/ceramic doorknobs, cabinet handles & hooks.
Dwellingup
So, you can't miss us; we are on the opposite corner of the Pinjarra/Williams Road that goes straight to Dwellingup, a favourite day trip/short break destination, especially for camping/hiking and the favourite Lanes Poole Reserve [include Bobs Crossing]. Don't forget on the way up there to include Vergone Orchardists, [they have a Fruit Stall and simple menu selections], Caraholly Orchard and Dwellingup Ice Creamery. Good meals/coffee is available also at the Dwellingup Hotel, plan a stop at the Wine Tree Cidery, have coffee & eats at Blue Wren Cafe, Garden Eats, Longriders Cafe & Restaurant, Etmilyn Forest Diner and check out Waypoints Cafe & Tours. The Red Shed Curios shop is also worth a look [opened weekends only].
If you are after adventure or adrenaline plan the Captain Fawcett four-wheel drive track [105kms from Nanga Mill in Lanes Poole Reserve to the historic Quindanning Hotel]. Book some tension release or payback on your friends at Paintballistics, Dwellingup`s Paintballing centre. Book some fun at Dwellingup Adventures, Treetop Ropes & Ziplining Adventure, Treetops Adventures, Dwellingup Fast Water Rafting, Dwellingup Skate Park & Pump Track, or a ride on the Marrinup Cycle Trail. There are train rides on the Hotham Valley Tourist Railway, and don't miss on visiting the Forest Discovery Centre which has a great little museum & beautiful woodwork on display. Pinjarra
There is so much to do/see in Pinjarra as a day trip/short stay destination as well.
Activities to do with getting back to nature include taking a stroll along the river, Ranger Reds Zoo & Conservation Park, Bindjareb Park [a 22-ha nature sanctuary], Fairbridge [and the Jacaranda Hill Farm]. The Old Blythewood historical landmark is an Estate full of old-world yesteryear.
Look through the Historic Edenvale Heritage Complex. The Roger May Machinery Museum and the Pinjarra Historic Society are co located there along with the Arts and Crafts Society. Adjacent is the Quilters Society, the Rose Gardens and St Johns Anglican Church Cemetary on the banks of the Murray River.
The Murray Shire have refurbished Cantwell Park. Offering a great family friendly area to stroll along the Murray River, a renewed playground, and a clean amenities block. Go for a swim at the Murray Aquatic & Leisure Centre [MALC]. Another playground is the Adventurescape Playground, only 15 mins away in South Yunderup or go for a canoe/kayak along the Murray River at Ravenswood.
The township of Pinjarra offers 7 day a week trading at the main Pinjarra Junction shopping center [Coles and a separate Liquorland within the car park] with many outlets under the main complex including Pinjarra Pharmacy, Pinjarra Health & Wholefoods, a fantastic butcher Pinjarra Meat Supplies, Australia Post, James St Cruise & Travel, The Lucky Charm news agency, Smokemart/Giftbox, Sportspower, The Reject Shop, BWS liquor outlet, K-Mart, take away outlets including Chicken Treat, Subway, Domino's Pizza, Pinjarra Kebabs, and the Old Wok and Muffin Break.
There are several other coffee and dining options along the main strip including the Jarra Fusion café, Simply Rustic Food, the Dome, Pinjarra & Kim`s Bakery's, The Pinjarra Diner, The Taj [Indian], Pinjarra Fish & Chips, Ken & Angie`s [Chinese cuisine] & the Pinjarra Chinese Restaurant. A short drive away is the Redcliffe on the Murray and the well-known Ravenswood Hotel.
The Premier Hotel in Pinjarra offers a good meal & a cold beer. The old Exchange Hotel on George St is set to get a major facelift/revamp and is being touted as a "regional icon", boasting family friendly retail space, relaxed bar/restaurant seating for 500 people and a major hospitality space.
More retailers include the quaint Ashdown and Webber, stocking antiques and giftware's. A fabulous fashion destination at DD`s boutique. Specialty shops like the Lovers of Lollie's shop, the Crosswalk gift shop have opened too.
